Grunge as described to Urban dict is a subgenre of alternative music, originating from Seattle, Washington, which melds punk and metal.
Grunge is also applied in fashion in having a messy hair, spiked shoes, baby doll dress, acid wash jeans/jacket, round glasses, chucks, dr martens, etc.
Nowadays grunge fashion is coming back. But what exactly is the real grunge? It just doesn’t mean wearing all those garments I’ve said above or just listening grunge inspired music of Pearl Jam, Nirvana, etc.
What I think is grunge is an attitude within. Like the title above, it means you are not just a typical go with the flow person, you fight for what is right especially for freedom. You act not just for yourself but also for the sake of humanity. You speak for the voice of others and you wouldn’t just shut up because you can’t and you won’t.
